The Green Energy and Manufacturing Institute of Technology (GEMIT) recently hosted the Global Forum on Green Energy Policy, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and academics from over 30 countries to discuss the future of renewable energy in developing nations. Held at GEMIT’s state-of-the-art campus in Bangalore, the forum explored solutions to energy access challenges and promoted the exchange of knowledge on solar, wind, and bioenergy technologies.

Keynote speaker Professor Sunil Kumar of GEMIT highlighted the importance of investment in green infrastructure. "Developing countries face unique challenges in transitioning to green energy, but with innovation and collaboration, we can create solutions that are both economically viable and environmentally sustainable." The forum concluded with a commitment to draft a set of actionable policies aimed at increasing renewable energy capacity in emerging markets by 2030.
